As a counsellor, I have come to understand that wisdom sits at the very heart of the work I do. It shapes how I meet people, how I listen, and how I walk alongside them in their pain, uncertainty, and growth.
For me, wisdom is not just a professional quality – it is something deeply human. It is about being fully present with another person, listening not only to their words, but also to the emotion, meaning, and silence beneath them. It is about creating a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and truly seen.
My practice has been shaped by the wider field of psychotherapy, but also by the people I have had the privilege of working with. I continue to learn from every client, every story, and every moment of trust that is placed in me. That learning has taught me the importance of humility, patience, and the courage to adapt.
I believe deeply in holding both empathy and objectivity. Clients often come carrying complex feelings, and part of my role is to help them make sense of those feelings while offering grounded, thoughtful support as they find their own way forward.
What matters most to me is genuine care. I want each person I work with to feel met with respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity, and to know they are not facing their struggles alone.
In my practice, wisdom means more than knowledge. It means presence, curiosity, compassion, and the willingness to keep learning. My hope is always to create a therapeutic space where people feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow in ways that are meaningful to them.
